Is it just Filipinos or is it really human nature that people are whiners? I know I whine as well from time to time especially when I was a bit less mature but now that I'm matured I guess not to the point that I may be considered as a frequent whiner... Although I believe I still whine from time to time being imperfect and all. But I always try to keep things on the right perspective. Kids whining about their parents, siblings whining about their other siblings, students whining about teachers, employees whining about their superiors, citizens whining about their government, etc. Of course, there are times that it's alright to whine but definitely NOT all the time. There are just exemptions.
In the spirit of Philippine Independence a while ago, I can't help but smile to a news report I read where US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton commended our country in honor of our 111th independence for being THE world's beacon of democracy with a lot of "whiners" pertaining to what the US Secretary of State said and about democracy here in the Philippines.
First of all, I would like to personally extend my appreciation to Mrs. Clinton for giving a piece of her hectic time to greet us and give us kind words on one of the best days of our country. Second of all, the issue here is Mrs. Clinton giving her opinion and should be respected to the highest level as everybody is entitled to his or her opinion. These whiners in the article I read speak of "abuse of democracy" in the Philippines, I agree to this big time as it is pretty evident on the way these Filipinos give out their commentaries (in a very disrespectful way which is basically an abuse in the freedom of speech or being irresponsible with the use of freedom or democracy) on another person's opinions. These guys definitely proven what they said that democracy in the Philippines is a joke contrary to what Mrs. Clinton said because as simple as giving out respectful commentaries we can't even do.
So yeah, maybe Mrs. Clinton was wrong. I have no argument with that. I just smiled at the fact to see the evidence of Pinoys being whiners on almost everything aside from our own selves. Try to reflect on it... We whine a lot about other people, other things but we seldom or worse never whine because of ourselves. We always find someone or something else to blame for whatever mishaps that happen to us, our family, our neighborhood, our country, our world, our galaxy and our universe.
I tell you this... There are things in this world that we have minimal to zero control or influence thus aside from just whining about it because it doesn't favor us try doing something else aside from whining. Don't just whine. Accompany it with action, personal action. Unfavorable people, things and events WILL always be with us. We can never eliminate it. With that in mind, what we could only do is to find ways to go around with it and become favorable to us. As Poker players say, "You don't have control the hands your dealt".
